[20 October 2008, Hong Kong] NetDragon Websoft Inc. (“NetDragon” or the “Company”, with its subsidiaries collectively called the “Group”; Stock Code: 777), one of the leading online game developers and operators in China, announced that its Eudemons Online and Way of the Five were awarded as one of the “Top 10 Favourite Online Games” and “Top 10 Most Anticipated Online Games,” respectively at 2008 Golden Plume Awards.
With an aim of strengthening supervision of domestic electronic entertainment products in China, China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (“ChinaJoy”) is highly regarded within the industry and is fully supported by the Chinese government. Renowned as the “Oscars” in China’s gaming industry, Golden Plume Awards was firstly launched at ChinaJoy in 2005 and has become one of the industry highlights each year since then. Marking its 6th edition this year, ChinaJoy Expo was held in July previously at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
Results of this year’s Golden Plume Awards were announced on 15 October 2008, with more than 2.7 million votes received. NetDragon achieved notable results in the past Golden Plume Awards with the winnings of the “Top 10 Favourite Online Game” and “Best Original Online Game”. Following its previous success, the Group’s two original online games Eudemons Online and Way of the Five received the “Top 10 Favourite Online Games” and “Top 10 Most Anticipated Online Games,” respectively this year.
Eudemons Online, a fantasy online game, has been making a huge hit among players since launching in 2006. The number of concurrent players has consistently stood at a relatively high level. With the upcoming launch of expansion pack “Return of the Gods”, it is expected to help bringing the game to reach new heights.
Way of the Five is a cartoon-version of turn-based online game featuring a green and healthy concept. Though the game will only be officially launched by the end of 2008, it has already earned numerous reputations as one of the most anticipated online games of the year.
