[30 October 2008,Hong Kong] NetDragon Websoft Inc. (“NetDragon” or the “Company”, and its subsidiaries collectively called the “Group”; Stock Code: 777), one of the leading online game developers and operators in China, won the “Economic Contribution Award” from the Organising Committee of the 6th China International Digital Content Expo organised by the Ministry of Culture. The award is a reflection of NetDragon’s outstanding performance in research and development as well as its global marketing efforts which received widespread recognition from the online gaming industry and the Chinese Government.
The China International Digital Content Expo (“Digital Content Expo”) is considered the most important industry occasion held by the Chinese Government to bolster development of internet culture and promote greater international exchange and cooperation. An award presentation ceremony was organised for the first time at the 6th Digital Content Expo to build a more positive image and promote well-known brands within the cultural internet industry. This ceremony helps to promote the prosperity and creativity of internet culture, while highlighting advanced digital technology applications and building a harmonious online community and society.
The “Economic Contribution Award” applies the most stringent criteria in its selection process. Judges not only have to assess the internal economic indication of each candidate but also examine their contribution to China’s economic growth. It also gives extra weight to both the growth potential and social responsibility of the competing candidates.
