NetDragon (Fujian) Honored with 2008 “National Outstanding Award for Internet Cultural Enterprise”

(13 January 2009, Hong Kong) NetDragon Websoft Inc., a leading game developer and operator in the PRC (“NetDragon” or the “Company”, with its subsidiary collectively the “Group”; stock code: 777) today announces that its subsidiary Fujian NetDragon Websoft Co. Ltd., (“NetDragon (Fujian)”) has won the 2008 “National Outstanding Award for Internet Cultural Enterprise” (全国优秀网络文化企业) granted by the Ministry of Culture, the PRC. The Group’s distinguished performance in building a harmonious internet culture and its global marketing efforts has once again earned the recognition from the PRC government and the Internet industry.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the nationwide selection started from the end of August 2008. All awarded enterprises have met the following key criteria: produce and distribute numerous superior net culture products and services; achieve favorable economic efficiencies through innovative technological, operational and management means; and obtain a leading market position in its own province.

This is the Group’s second award received from the Ministry of Culture, after being the sole winner of 2008 “Economic Contribution Award” at the 6th China International Digital Content Expo.

Mr Liu Luyuan, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of NetDragon, is honored and encouraged by receiving the award. He said, “NetDragon has placed relentless efforts in building the internet culture in China and promoting the Chinese culture around the globe. Since our founding, we have committed to promoting self-discipline in the internet and contributing to the building of green internet culture. We were also granted the 2008 “China Internet Contribution Award for Self-Discipline” (中国互联网行业自律贡献奖) by the Internet Society of China.”

NetDragon has always put great emphasis on its social responsibilities and the nurture of green internet culture. Apart from promoting anti-addiction systems in its online game, the Group has launched “green internet access programme for youths” to educate the youths for better understanding the Internet. In addition, NetDragon advocates enhancing the Internet knowledge and promoting online credibility among each individual with an aim of formulating harmonious online environment for mankind. In order to promote corporate social responsibility, encourage economic and social development in harmony and cultivate the spirit of youth business, the Group established the “Fujian NetDragon Youth Business Foundation”. The foundation provides charitable support to youths including complimentary training programmes, assistance for starting a business among youths such as marketing and promotion, with an aim to enhance their ability of starting their own business and work capability.
